The Laser GS FIS is a FIS giant slalom ski for maximum acceleration and absolute control. The Piste Race Core with extra beech wood delivers stability, while the adapted flex and slightly forward mounting position ensure fast, precise turn initiation.

Piste Race Core.
A Sandwich System with a Piste Race Core and extra beech wood forms the stable heart of the GS. The polyamide topsheet protects the construction, while Racing Edge and black phenolic race sidewalls deliver direct power transfer and firm edge grip.

Direct power transfer.
The Laser GS FIS can be built up with a WRTD20 race plate and a WRT 12 GW or WRT 16 binding. These configurations focus on high stability, direct power transfer and maximum acceleration out of the turn.

Control to the last centimetre.
Flex Torsion Control uses S-shaped cut-outs in the aluminium at shovel and tail, allowing the ski to twist in a controlled way during the change of direction. The Racing Graphite base offers strong glide and high durability.

RACE BOOTFITTING
The race set‑up starts
with the ski boot.
The ski boot is the direct connection between the racer and the ski. That’s why race bootfitting looks beyond fit alone. Foot, lower leg, posture and biomechanics help determine how a racer stands in the boot and how forces are ultimately transferred to the ski.
Patrick analyses the racer and tunes the race boot accordingly. Depending on the individual situation, footbed, shell, liner, cuff alignment, ramp angle and the position of the boot within the overall set-up can be assessed and adjusted.

THE MAN BEHIND THE PERFECT BOOTFIT
Patrick looks beyond
the ski boot.
Patrick doesn’t start with a brand, flex rating or boot size, but with the racer. He looks at the shape of the feet, the alignment of the lower legs, the natural posture and the way forces are transferred to the ski. Only then does he decide which boot and which adjustments are needed.
A full bootfit at Edelweiss is not a quick sales appointment. Patrick reserves two to three hours to measure, analyse, fit, modify and check again. The result is not a standard boot, but a personal race set-up.

Foot & lower leg
Patrick analyses the shape of the feet, the alignment of the lower legs and the racer’s natural posture. Not the boot, but the anatomy is the starting point.

Shell & liner
Insole, liner and shell are adapted where needed. Pressure points disappear, while heel hold, support and precision are retained.

Alignment & canting
The position of cuff, boot and ski is precisely aligned. A neutral stance helps the racer load both edges evenly and engage them more directly.

Ramp & delta
Ramp angle in the ski boot and the binding delta influence fore-aft balance. Edelweiss tunes this geometry for a central, powerful position on the ski.

Race bootfitting at Edelweiss is a personal process in which Patrick optimises the connection between racer and ski. For more control, a more central position and a set-up that keeps performing under load. Bootfitting is by appointment only.

Race set‑up for
international alpine racers.
Skicenter Edelweiss works with competitive alpine racers who require more than standard equipment selection. Racers travelling from outside the Netherlands can combine race bootfitting, alignment and ski set-up in a carefully planned visit to our workshop in Dieren.
For European Cup, World Cup and other high-level FIS racers, appointments can be planned around the individual racer, equipment and competition schedule.
